February is here and it is a busy time of year! Please bear with us as we have a number of reminders and information for this newsletter.
The children have been excited to see the changes around the school and especially enjoying our newest animal friends, Pygmy Goats, Smokey and Bandito. We will spend this month talking about Hearts-Spreading Love and Flames-Shadows.
Friendship Tea
The children will celebrate the upcoming Valentine holiday with a Friendship Tea.We will have a celebration on both the 14th and the 15th at 3pm that will include special games and treats for our tea party. We would appreciate a few parent volunteers on each day to assist with the celebration, if available please send us an email. Our students will enjoy games and activities that foster friendships throughout the week in lieu of exchanging valentines.
Parent Society Meeting
Thank you to all that attended our recent Parent Society meeting! For those that couldn’t attend visit the blog for a synopsis. Our next scheduled meeting is March 27th at 7pm.
Reminder: Summer Leave Request Deadline- March 1st
A limited number of families may take a summer break from June 11, 2012 through August 10 2012. Notice must be given by March 1, 2012, that a family wishes to take a summer break. If space permits a summer withdrawal, a non-refundable pre-payment equivalent to one full month’s tuition must be paid June 1, 2012, to reserve the child’s space over the summer. This payment reserves the child’s space upon return to care during the week of August 13, 2012. Tuition is not billed for June 8 through August 10, 2012, and the pre-paid month of tuition is applied in a pro-rated fashion to the child’s August and September tuition.
Fall 2012 Enrollment
We will be finalizing enrollment for next Fall in the upcoming weeks. Spaces for new students are offered based on current student schedules. If you are considering any schedule changes for your child next Fall we encourage you to submit requests soon so that we are able to meet your needs. Also, if you are considering enrollment of a sibling next year we encourage you to secure spaces now or enter the waitlist for 2013 enrollment. Just a reminder that we offer a 5% tuition discount for families with more than one child enrolled.
NEW: Kindergarten/1st Grade Program Begins Fall 2012
We are pleased to announce the launch of our combined K/1st Grade classroom for next Fall! Program details are being finalized and will be shared at our upcoming Informational Meeting on Tuesday, February 21st at 7pm. We encourage any parents interested in a Waldorf inspired education for children eligible for Kindergarten through 6th grade to come and participate in this community meeting. Please feel free to share this information with any friends, colleagues or neighbors that may also be interested.
As always we appreciate your kind words or referrals and like to extend a credit of $50 to your account when a family enrolls as a result of your referral, our way of saying Thank You! Our next “Open House” for prospective families is Saturday, February 18th from 10am to Noon.
Note: Summer Camp
We have had a number of questions regarding Summer Camp! We are finalizing details for our 5-weeks of camp to take place in July and August. Registration will open in March.
