FEBRUARY NEWS

Winter in Texas is nothing if not unpredictable. This past weekend many may have watched the famous groundhog in Pennsylvania but right here in Central TX we have “Armadillo Bob” who made an appearance at the Armadillo Day celebration and declared an early Spring for the Lone Star State.  Since Spring and Summer are on the horizon we have been busily planning for the upcoming months and have lots of important information to share below.

THEMES

The Saplings are talking about Gardens and Growth this month.  Ms. Melissa and Ms. Barbra will be talking about the transition from Winter to Spring, sprouting beans and even beginning preparation for Spring planting.  If you haven’t already donated wipes to the classroom this month please bring a box of unscented wipes at your earliest convenience.

The Treehouse students will be talking about Love and Friendship.  Ms. Janie and Mr. Robert have been working with the children on completing their felting projects from last month and they are looking forward to the upcoming Friendship Tea.

CLOSURES & EVENTS

FRIENDSHIP TEA
February 13th & 14th
Our students will celebrate their Friendship with a tea and special morning snack next week.  In lieu of exchanging valentines we celebrate with special activities and/or games for the children.  Children are welcome to don festive red, white or pink apparel for the occasion. We would appreciate the assistance of 1 or 2 parents for each class the morning of the celebration so if interested in volunteering please email us for details.

PARENT SOCIETY SOCIAL
Tuesday, February 19th, 7-9pm
Inspired  by the themes of Love, Friendship and Kindness we invite all parents to come for an evening social.  The evening will not only provide an opportunity for you to connect with other parents but also hear from special guests speaking on the important topic of self care.  In order to take care of  children it is imperative to take care of yourself! We hope you can  join us!

2013-2014 TUITION CHANGE

We are pleased to provide a unique Waldorf-inspired program for your child, a healthy lunch/snacks and safe environment in which they can explore nature.  In the past 4 years we have moved to providing an almost exclusively organic diet to the children, extended the hours of our MDO program (previously 8-1pm, now 8-3:30pm) and improved the property/surroundings here on the farm.  We have been fortunate enough to improve our program without changing tuition rates, however, the rising cost of food and materials will necessitate a change in tuition effective June 1, 2013. Please note that the supply fee for the Sapling and Treehouse students is now included in the monthly tuition rate. The sibling discount of 5% off total tuition will still apply to those families with more than one child enrolled. We appreciate your continued support and urge you to please come to us with any questions.

Click here for the tuition/fees schedule for June 2013-August 2014. or you can view it in our Forms & Documents section of our website.

We are looking forward to warmer weather,

Leslie, Janie, Andrea, Melissa, Barbra and Robert
