Though we’re open year ’round, the “start” of our school year coincides with the opening of local district and private schools this week. We’ve said goodbye to older siblings and farm school alumni who joined us for summer camp, and a farewell to five year old friends who started kindergarten. And, most importantly, we’ve begun welcoming new friends who are trickling into our classrooms!
Our new friends are learning our songs and rituals, and we’ve been learning about them!
There have been having adventures in the forest…
Drawing with new beeswax crayons…
Watercolor painting…
Bread to bake…
Floors to sweep…
Dishes to do…
Napkins to wash…
And animals to tend…
It’s HOT so we keep the “water wagon” close by.
So, a few things have changed, but purposefully, most things about are school are the same, with a little beauty thrown in for good measure.
And it all makes us smile.
