As you may have read in the November newsletter, Abby departed yesterday for her new home in Round Rock. My daughter, Emma Grace, Mr. Robert and his son Felix and I were at the farm to say goodbye and make sure Abby got off okay. Abby has been at the farm since day 1. She is sweet, sassy and has been the leader of the "herd" for six years. It was a bit bittersweet to see her leave, however, I know that she will be happy at her new home.

Good afternoon! It is with great excitement that we share with you that we raised a total of $6,662 through generous contributions to our Indiegogo FUNraiser! We are busy compiling the list of necessary equipment for installation of the various projects around the grounds, some of which will begin at our Parent Workday on September 20th. In fact, our first load of ground fill has arrived for the base of our rolling hills to be constructed!
We extend our deepest thanks to those near and far that contributed to the grounds fund. ...
Please take a moment and visit our Indiegogo page to see what great plans we have for the grounds at Good Earth Farm School! We need your help! Please donate if you can, every dollar helps - no donation is too small! Please feel free to share it on facebook, email it to family members, friends and neighbors! Thank you for your support!
Our final parent workday for this school year is coming up on Saturday! Please click here to sign up for projects. We have grouped projects together with an estimated amount of time tasks will take and the appropriate number of people for the projects. We're hoping that this is a bit easier for everyone. You may also sign up for care for your child on the sign up list. If you have any questions, please direct all inquires to Janie! Families who still need to complete one workday will be contacted via email with a reminder.
Will you join us in taking the pledge to observe a screen-free week (work and school assignments not included) on May 5-11 this year? Screen-free week, sponsored for the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood, encourages families to "turn off screens and turn on life"!
"...children are spending way too much time with screens—a staggering 32 hours a week for preschoolers and even more for older kids. Miniaturized media technology, including cell phones featuring child-targeted apps, mp3 players, iPads, and other hand-held devices, mean that children are immersed in screens, and the things...
It's time to register children for kindergarten in our local public schools. Parents have so many questions about how to tell if their child is ready for kindergarten. Having three children who are public kindergarten graduates myself, I assure you that the more appropriate question (given the expectations of kindergarten today) is really, "Is my child ready to read?". To follow is one of the best articles I have found on the subject of reading readiness because it considers the whole child.

We hope that you can make time to join us at the Spring Festival this Saturday, April 12 from 10:00am-1:00pm! We know that schedules are busy, and we encourage you to edit your family's calendar to contain just what is most meaningful. We hope that participating in our school festivals makes the cut! Festivals give us reason to come together in awe of both our physical experience in nature at a given time of year, as well as a time to celebrate that which is our soul's experience of the Season.
At Farm School, your child really is one with nature for most of his/her day. The...
