There is usually a flurry of activity throughout the day with our active Saplings! When silence falls over the group, it usually involves one of two things--eating or sleeping! Both are incredibly important for these little ones.
Our kids are healthy eaters and enjoy a variety of flavors and textures. Would you believe that one of their favorites is baby spinach? We throw it in to many dishes....even on our pizza! This is a time when children tend to become picky with their eating. If your child has become picky at home, continue offering a variety of foods and they will come around.
We hope that everyone had an enjoyable spring break. For us it was a time to take a breath, enjoy time with our families and catch up on tasks around our homes.
Each month, our talented teachers create a chalkboard drawing to compliment the curriculum. The drawings vary from each room. The children delight in seeing the new drawing as it is unveiled each month! We also bring in seasonally appropriate decorations for our nature trays and classrooms. This month, our rooms are adorned with handmade shamrock garland from Ms. Lisa. Our staff are busy making many beautiful handcrafted items...
February is a month of love and friendship. Tomorrow and Thursday the Saplings will enjoy warm chamomile tea and warm heart pancakes as we celebrate Valentine's Day.
The children have been enjoying our new finger plays and song, Make New Friends. The freezing weather has kept us inside a bit and we are all ready for Spring to arrive!
We love our Saplings. Thank you for sharing your children with us!
Leander ISD has announced that school will be closed tomorrow, February 7, due to anticipated severe weather. Following their lead, GEDS will be closed tomorrow. Please be safe if you do venture out tomorrow!
We're ready for Spring! Are you?
This week we had winds up to 25 miles an hour! Wow! What better weather could you find to fly a kite?
When we weren't outside enjoying this winter weather, we brought the fun inside with some lovely art, beautiful stories, and fun toys and games.
Also, I am sure you will all be gratified to learn that after much waiting and patience on the part of the kinder class, our chickens have begun to lay eggs. We are all very pleased with this new development!
Check out some photos from this week!
