 In Our Daily Rhythm

We started the day making chocolate banana bread for morning snack. It was delicious, and not too sweet!

“Grandmother Wind” was blowing hard at the farm today! Brrr…

Andrea helped the Saplings plant marigolds in preparation for Saturday’s fall festival.

Even the babies made it out to experience the sunshine and the wind! One little lady enjoyed the mothering of two older little girls from the Treehouse.

We had some climbing monkeys today. It’s fun to watch the desire to climb emerge when a child observes either his peers or an older child climbing. Next comes the work–every day coming back to the tree to make it a couple of inches further. And then, one very exciting day, I hear the child call to me “Look, I did it!”. I don’t teach children to climb trees, I simply provide the time and the space. The pride and sense of accomplishment rightfully belongs to the child.

Several Treehouse friends helped make lemon vinaigrette for our spinach salad. They were very good at rolling the lemons to prepare them for juicing. They loved the dressing…real kids do eat spinach!

The Saplings had fun dressing up!
