 In Our Daily Rhythm

This week we are talking about woodworking and honesty in PreK, and some of our younger friends are also having experiences related to this topic.

Thank you to the Hanslik family for sharing their prolific basil and some pinenuts with us last week. On Monday, we made fresh pesto–the Twos group watched Janie add the ingredients to the blender, and they had the opportunity to push the blender button!

It has been a very wet week so far, but we did make it outside yesterday to enjoy the tree. We were followed by two social goats.

Ali enjoyed smiling and hiding under her hood!

We noticed that some squash plants have come up voluntarily–we were surprised to already find yellow squash and zucchini.

Yesterday PreK painted “trees” with black and green.

It was fun to have our friend Miles return to school for a day while LISD was closed for students. He liked playing in birdseed with Wacy.

The children enjoyed the pasta with fresh pesto, broccoli, and chicken.
On Tuesday, some of the PreK made a cheese enchilada casserole. They cracked up when asked to say “cheese”!

Each week, Kari draws a surprise picture on the PreK classroom chalkboards that relates to our theme. Today, in Leslie’s PreK group this picture spawned a discussion about log cabins, then we built structures with Lincoln Logs.

Cole and Wacy enjoyed “cooking”.

There was a torrential downpour today! We watched it from the balcony.

We could feel the heavy rain hitting the roof of our finished play eave!

Today was Sophia’s 3rd birthday–we sang to her before lunch and at lunch, too! She brought beautiful cookies to share!
