Summer of Simplicity: Rhythm and Routine

Blog Category: Tips & Treasures & Thoughts

At our May Parent Society Meeting, we began to tackle establishing rhythm and routine in our family lives by first identifying what must be done on a daily, weekly, and seasonal basis. I am revising my personal and family charts based on trial and error over the last year. Janie and I are currently attending our last week of Lifeways training at the Austin Waldorf School. Our Lifeways work this session has even further reinforced the healing power of routine for children and parents, too. When all else in the world is wrong, after dinner I can make my kitchen sink a sparkling, clutter-free anchor of order just as the Flylady suggests!

Read a little more about rhythm and routine here, and here, and the lifelong payoffs of establishing both here.

Anyone have any successes or challenges to report so far in establishing or simplifying your to-do list?

~Leslie
