 In Our Daily Rhythm

Each day children at the farm have many sensory experiences. The new layer of mulch in the play yard has been of particular interest to the children. From digging to piling the mulch high and knocking it over to rolling in it, they have enjoyed the new ground cover immensely! Sensory activities are important to our curriculum. Every day the children play in sand, dirt or a water activity. Sensory play helps with brain development.  Repeated sensory experiences help build and strengthen neural pathways!  Here is a link to a lovely article on the importance of sensory play from both a Waldorf perspective as well as a traditional education perspective.  Enjoy!
