Treehouse: Ages 3 - 4 years
Children in the Treehouse have mastered toileting and dressing themselves. Their imaginations are in full bloom and they are ready for richer experiences such as a circle time with a longer period of singing, storytelling and discussion. Cooperative play is emerging, and teachers support negotiations with peers. Opportunities for scribbling and drawing are a bridge to eventual reading readiness at age five or six. Students assist with setting the table, cooking, washing dishes, and folding cloth flannel napkins. The students enjoy hours of movement and active play outdoors, enjoy our sandboxes, and finding little nature “treasures” about the Farm.
Children are grouped by age but our program provides many opportunities for mixed-age partnering throughout the day.
