APRIL NEWS
April Showers are nice but the cold weather today was a bit brisk for Spring! We are hoping for more wet weather so make sure your child has a waterproof jacket/coat and a pair of boots.
THEMES
The Saplings have enjoyed our Rainbow theme so much that we are continuing Rainbows and adding the element of Rain! We are showering our plants in the new vegetable garden and enjoying filling the birdfeeders and then watching the birds and squirrels enjoy a snack as we lunch. As a result of our “Rainbow” theme the children are really proud to identify the colors of their favorite farm things.
The Treehouse students will be talking about Gardens and Growth! The children are tending to the butterfly garden and have noticed sprouts from the sunflower seeds planted. Next week is also the last week that our intern Miss Lindsay will be visiting Treehouse! The children have really enjoyed her and the added sensory activities she shared with them this month.
VOLUNTEERISM
We want to extend a sincere thank you to all of the families that have volunteered and participated in our Parent Workdays! While we ask for participation in only 2 of the 3 scheduled workdays a year so many of you go above and beyond and for that we are truly grateful! Please note that now that 2 of our 3 workdays have passed any families that have not participated or spoken with Andrea about an alternative opportunity have been billed the $75 fee outlined in the Family Handbook. Save the Date for our next workday which is Saturday, May 18th from 8am-Noon!
CLOSURES & EVENTS
SPRING FESTIVAL: Saturday, April 13th, 10am-1pm
Join us for some simple farm fun with games, prizes, demos and more! In addition to the sheep shearing we will debut our new farm friends! Did the ducks, geese or peacocks win the vote? Admission is $4pp (Children 1y and under FREE) Hayrides will also be offered for an additional $1 per ticket.
Festivals are open to the public so feel free to bring a friend. NOTE: Parking is available across the street at Wiley Middle School
PARENT SOCIETY MEETING: Tuesday, April 23rd at 7pm
All Good Earth Farm School parents are invited to attend our Parent Society meetings. If you have a topic of interest, questions or a special guest speaker you would like to hear from please email us your ideas.
