 In Our Daily Rhythm

“Bring what you’ve got!
Put it into the pot!
We’re making Stone Soup!”

Yesterday we made vegetarian chili with yellow squash. We sorted black beans, putting the “bad” beans in the fish tail. We served the chili over chips with a little cheese.

Today we made a delicious veggie-beef meatloaf (thanks Allison Boyd for inspiration). First, we used the food processor to shred zucchini, carrots, and onions. Then, the kids chopped potatoes for our mashed potato side. The kids helped mash the potatoes, and “abracadabra” the best school lunch in town today!

Other happenings:
•Barbra painted the second coat on our front door, and painted the Sprouts’ exterior door.
•Saplings and Treehouse students enjoyed movement class with Tracy at The Rhythm Studio next door.
•It’s fun to watch the children watercolor paint–some use a precise amount of paint, while others love to watch the paint fill their paper.
•The Sprouts all want to sit with Kim at once!
•The children have been making rocks…is Paul Chek influencing their play? Check out some of Paul’s therapeutic work with rocks on his blog.
•A bird’s eye view of Janie, Andrea and kids in the front yard today, working on stamping table runners for Friday night’s Stone Soup Supper.

Have a happy day, we did!
