Our internet access at farm school has been down since last week, and before that we were tired or otherwise occupied with Thanksgiving and personal affairs, so we apologize for it being so long between blog posts. . .
This month is probably the best example of how our school curriculum differs from most schools–we focus on the environment and seasons rather than holidays. There is considerable diversity in our school population, and we honor the beliefs of all our families by teaching the children that kindness to our friends/family, our environment, and ourselves is most important . Last week we talked about love and this week we are talking about evergreens.
Today, the weather was super-warm, and the PreK took advantage of this opportunity to take a big farm walk. We visited the back of our property–“the forest”. The land on the farm slopes downward, so there was a temporary creek 3-5 feet wide, and much of the land was marshy! (It sucked some of our boots off!)
