Sad to see ACT spending so much money developing a tool to track “students’ career interests, academic performance and progress toward goals” beginning in kindergarten. Gad! The last thing I was working toward at age 5/6 was my career. I remember learning to print and to tie my shoes (marked by a pair of paper sneakers with my name on them hung on the bulletin board). I didn’t like soggy cooked spinach, I loved to fingerpaint, and I was quite shy at school. I wish folks were spending the same time and money creating developmentally appropriate kinder classrooms that function more like this, that support the foundational growth of well-rounded human beings. What are your thoughts?
