One of my greatest joys as a parent was riding my new (used) bike with my girls to school today. We had to leave by seven to make the mile-long ride to their school. We had to arrive early for Olivia to be at her safety patrol post by 7:15. Iris had the idea of securing their small flashlights to the front of their bikes with some zip ties. It was a great adventure, and a very positive way for all of us to start the morning. Somehow, when the girls want to, they can get ready quickly and be on time! We plan to continue this ritual as long as the weather permits.
