We had such a great time last Saturday at the Spring Festival! Special thanks to Ms. Courtney's Dad and Gibson's "Pop" for hauling his tractor from Houston so that everyone could enjoy a hayride at the festival! The John Deere tractor was a hit. Ms. Barbra even took it for a spin in the back field.
This week we have observed Rhett and Scarlett, the peacocks. They are loose and roosting in the trees along the fairy forest. We took Phinneaus for a walk. He found a leftover honey stick in the hay and enjoyed the sweet treat and rooted in the hay hoping to find more!
In Treehouse, friends...
Just a note to let everyone know that our Spring Lunch/Snack Menu started after Spring Break! We are very excited that the Sassy Pea now has not only local grass-fed beef and pastured chicken but produce, grains, snacks and more. The Kinder/Grades children are shopping weekly at the Pea to make sure we are well stocked at the school. All allergens are listed on our menu but you will notice that we do not specifically address gluten and while we make every effort to reduce gluten/wheat in our menu we simply cannot guarantee that meals are gluten free due to the many hidden...
April Showers are nice but the cold weather today was a bit brisk for Spring! We are hoping for more wet weather so make sure your child has a waterproof jacket/coat and a pair of boots.
The Saplings have enjoyed our Rainbow theme so much that we are continuing Rainbows and adding the element of Rain! We are showering our plants in the new vegetable garden and enjoying filling the birdfeeders and then watching the birds and squirrels enjoy a snack as we lunch. As a result of our "Rainbow" theme the children are really proud to identify the colors of their favorite farm...
Welcome Spring! We are enjoying finding all the signs of spring around the Farm School. We have lots of outdoor projects for our Parent Workday, tomorrow, Saturday the 23rd from 8 am to Noon. Bring gloves if you have them and a few large shovels would be helpful for digging. We will provide light refreshments, coffee and water!
Just an additional reminder that due to tools and other hazards your children must be signed into childcare or directly supervised by a parent if attending the workday.
Thank you and enjoy these photos of the kids having fun during Rainbow week.
Spring, Spring is almost here! Time to bring in your boots and rain gear! We are hoping for a wet Spring at the farm and so please ensure your child has a waterproof jacket/coat and a pair of boots. Some of the current boots have cracks and/or are a size too small so we will do a boot inventory this next week and may ask you to provide a new pair of boots for your child.
The Saplings will continue to talk about Gardens and Growth this next week and then they will delve into Rainbows and Color after Spring Break. Ask your child to show you their tiny seed! We have lots...
Winter in Texas is nothing if not unpredictable. This past weekend many may have watched the famous groundhog in Pennsylvania but right here in Central TX we have "Armadillo Bob" who made an appearance at the Armadillo Day celebration and declared an early Spring for the Lone Star State. Since Spring and Summer are on the horizon we have been busily planning for the upcoming months and have lots of important information to share below.
The Saplings are talking about Gardens and Growth this month. Ms. Melissa and Ms. Barbra will be talking about the transition from Winter...
I just have to say that the warmer weather has been a blessing! The kids are soaking up the vitamin D and are so happy! Question for you--have you climbed a tree lately? It's food for my soul, especially when I have a handsome little redhead nearby to share the experience with!
